Delyan Dzhurov joined DGKV in 2024. Having previously worked as a lawyer he has contributed to a number of landmark commercial and public sector projects and cases. In addition to his significant practical experience, Delyan has also academic credentials, as a Part-time Assistant Professor in Civil Procedural Law at Sofia University.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
- Representing ELEKTRORAZPREDELITELNI MREZHI ZAPAD EAD – the largest electricity distribution company in Bulgaria, in Case C-310/2024 before the Court of Justice of the European Union.
- Advising the Bulgarian arm of Akuo Energy (an operator of renewable energy assets worldwide) in a contemplated acquisition of ten hydro power plants in Bulgaria, with total installed power capacity of 22 MWs.
- Advising a syndicate of lenders — EBRD, Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, OTP Bank, NLB Bank, UniCredit, and Kommunalkredit, in connection with a €315 million HoldCo financing for Renalfa IPP, a leading regional renewables platform.
- Advising Contour Global Maritsa East 3 AD on issues relating to grid interconnection of a solar PV project and a BESS as well as the functioning of the power exchange market and the transition from the regulatory to the liberalised energy market.
- Advising Axpo Bulgaria EAD with respect to specific regulatory requirements and obligations for selling electricity to end industrial consumers.
- Participating in the representation of Shanghai Sensheng Assets Management Centre (Limited Partnership) in a lawsuit against the Bulgarian State.
- Advising Vitol on a ongoing basis in relation to licensing and regulatory requirements for the operation on the electricity and gas markets.
